We are design thinkers. We approach every project as a set of problems to be solved with intention — understanding a client's needs and vision first, then developing elegant, buildable solutions that exceed expectations. From feasibility through construction administration, we act as the conductor coordinating every consultant so the finished building is contemporary, sustainable and resolved.
Founding Partners, Architects
Custom homes and commercial projects across Austin and the Southwest — each shaped by its site, its clients and a rigor for how things are made.
A beloved mid-century home renovated and expanded around a light-filled, beamless vaulted addition.
A single-story new build organized around natural light, spatial fluidity and indoor-outdoor living.
A traditional riverfront home reoriented into a contemporary dwelling built around its views.
A warm, material-rich home where wood ceilings and stone meet layered, collected interiors.
Whether it's a ground-up custom home or a complex commercial build, every project is guided by two principal architects — from the first sketch to the final site visit.
April and Ed are hands-on from concept to completion — you work directly with the architects, not a rotating team.
Modern architecture grounded in proportion, natural light and honest materials — designed to feel current and to last.
Site-responsive, energy-conscious design and green building expertise woven into every decision, not added on later.
Deep knowledge of materials, construction methods and City code — with established relationships to move permits forward.

U.S. residential architects — Forbes
A clear, five-phase path that carries your project from first conversation through construction — organized, legible and coordinated at every step.
We fine-tune your program, study the site and its constraints, discuss aesthetics and gather what's needed — including surveys — to begin.
We develop two to three design approaches, build a 3D digital model and refine scale, massing and relationships into one clear direction.
The approved scheme becomes detailed drawings describing materiality and construction, coordinated with structural and civil engineers.
Full, dimensioned CAD drawings to permit and build — with support for contractor selection and permitting services.
During the build we clarify the drawings, answer the contractor's questions and visit the site regularly to keep the vision intact.
Much of our work reimagines existing homes. Slide through two views of the same project to see the range within a single renovation.

Workplace & Institutional
We design custom residential and commercial architecture — new construction, renovations and additions, interior design and feasibility studies. Our work ranges from single-family homes to workplace, institutional and mixed-use projects.
We're based in East Austin and work throughout the greater Austin area. We've also completed award-winning projects in Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada and Alabama, and are happy to discuss projects beyond Texas.
Our process runs in five phases: Pre-Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents and Construction Administration. We guide you from program and feasibility through permitting and the build, coordinating engineers and consultants along the way.
Yes. We know Austin's code deeply and maintain established relationships with City officials. We can prepare permit-ready documents and offer permitting services to keep your project moving.
Directly and throughout. April Clark and Ed Richardson lead every project personally — you work with the architects who design your building, from the first sketch to the final site visit.
Always. We design site-responsive, energy-conscious buildings and bring green-building expertise to material selection, orientation and systems. Sustainability is a starting point, not an upgrade.
Our mid-century renovation and addition earns Silver at the national Master Design Awards.
